Where it all began...

In April 2012 was when my love for cycling blossomed. Until this time i had used a bike to get from A to B and take no notice of what happened in between. I would not even call myself a big cyclist, from home to University was no more than 5 miles and i would never ride long distances for fun as i never embraced the great qualities that cycling offers.

The reason for my first major cycling tour goes down solely to a bet between myself and a friend in New Zealand. After travelling a small section of the world i came to the conclusion that i hadn't seen much of my own country and i wanted a challenge to go with it. "I bet you can't cycle to my house from your house" said my friend Euan who hails from Inverness. After all but a few seconds in thought i took him up on the 900 mile challenge from Southampton to Inverness and it was the best thing i've done to date!

 I suppose i should be thankful to this man!....p.s. it wasn't a drunken bet...honest.
